Background
The Institute of Corporate Governance of Uganda (ICGU) was incorporated in December 1998 as a company limited by guarantee and officially launched in October 2000. The ICGU is not for profit organization established in Uganda to foster the corporate governance values of accountability, transparency, integrity, and responsibility.The Institute derives its mandate from the memorandum of association and it is governed by an 11 member Council. Its membership cuts across all sectors and embraces both individuals and corporate members.

Purpose

The purpose of the Institute is to promote good governance in Uganda and Uganda through training, publications, and advocacy, among others. The CEO of the Institute shall be responsible for providing strategic leadership to the Institute to facilitate the achievement of this purpose in a sustainable manner.
